Brian and Mike.

While I was staying with Rory, I got to meet his neighbors. First, I was very impressed by the garden that Mike had in hairs backyard. He was out there watering it and we got to talking. I explained that the trip was ideally to raise money to build a greenhouse and raise awareness of growing local and sustainaitly. Our conversations led to how the world needs to recycle more and how much money they have saved by having their own gardens.

Brian (taller one) is from Ohio and he had to relocate out here because in Ohio (much like Rochester and the rest of the world) they are not environmentally friendly/conscious, which is why he moved out here and only creates a regular plastic bag of garbage maybe once every other week. Brian's garden is bigger than Mike's and we talked about how you just have to get used to prioritizing the maintenance and then it becomes second nature. We discussed how easy it is to recycle and reuse things. The greenhouse that Mike has is made entirely from scrap and cost him nothing and he loves it. It was overall a really great conversation that made me feel great about speaking with someone who has the same views on environmental conservation, there seems to be a lot of people like that here on the west coast.

With that being said, I will attach some photos that do not make me too happy... You can decide what ones they are. Have a happy 4th everyone. Enjoy the fireworks, there is a ban on fireworks here because it's too dry... Going to check out a sport complex that is having a "bring your own fireworks" event tonight and that is the only place they can set them off because the fire department will be on hand. Be safe kiddos. Cheers
